Migrate includes a powerful Windows based tool named Analyzer, for working with your data. Analyzer provides a full range of analysis, testing and conversion capabilities, wrapped up in a simple to use interface. Even though it is a Windows package, Analyzer is designed to be used with the types and volumes of data you will encounter in your source data environments.

Please see the Analyzer page for a more complete description of its capabilities, but to summarize some of the significant capabilities:

• Analytic capabilities include the ability to total any column, sort, summarize, determine cardinality and establish all the unique values encountered.
• Validation capabilities include the ability to find data that is physically invalid for its described data type, to flag values that are outside specified bounds, to confirm all elements are a member of a set, to confirm the relationship between any set of fields and to confirm referential integrity of columns between any number of tables.
• Conversion features include the ability to implement any calculation of process as a virtual column. As well, over 80 built in functions allow source data to be converted into any type, of any length with any name, and assembled into rows with any combination of information.
• Data access capabilities include support for over 20 distinct data types, including every data type and data set organization supported by the IBM mainframe environment. As well, data types specific to DEC, UNISYS and other platforms are natively supported. Through the use of virtual columns, virtually any other data encountered can also be processed.

Minimize infrastructure requirements with small software “footprint”

Migrate’s simple, low infrastructure, implementation means that it has a very modest footprint on your systems. The Windows components will run on any processor and require less than 10MB, exclusive of temporary data files. The same is true of the servers, each of which requires less than 5MB exclusive of temporary data files.
