Scenarios

The Arbutus technology allows any Windows application to directly connect to virtually any IBM mainframe (zSeries) or AS/400 (iSeries) legacy data, without the high cost, complexity or prolonged implementation cycle typical of legacy data access. This includes non-relational (flat) files on the mainframe, in addition to VSAM, IMS, ADABAS or DB2. Data from any of these sources can appear as a relational table in a unified database. To a Windows application, this virtual database is indistinguishable from a data warehouse.
